Kinesys Sales Get Asia Boost
London-based automation manufacturer and specialist Kinesys has finalised two major sales and technical partnerships in Asia, in Taiwan and South Korea, to expand their business substantially in the region.
The growth in popularity of the brand in Europe is starting to spread further afield as more and more entertainment-based companies are seeing the benefits of using Kinesys’ highly flexible and robust solutions for their work. The Kinesys brand is also appearing with increasing regularity of product specifications for all types of live events.
With the sales to these two key strategic countries, it is expected that there will also be a growth in demand for Kinesys products on the Chinese mainland.
Aurora based in Taipei, Taiwan, have bought an Elevation 1+ system that is being used in conjunction with their CM Varistar hoists as well as with beam trolleys. They also have Kinesys Rigger Remote handsets for local control of the Elevations and a Kinesys Array PD-ES for power distribution.
Aurora made the purchase after working with a Kinesys system on an event celebrating the first all-Chinese manufactured Volkswagen Golf 7 vehicles at the end of 2013, which featured a 36-way Kinesys Elevation 1+ automation system with K2 control being used to lift a 70-metre wide LED screen weighing over 30 tonnes.
This impressed Aurora’s Production Managers Jez Fang and Philly Chen, who then recommended that Aurora purchase a system of their own.
Aurora was founded in 2002 and is a go-ahead rental and design company supplying lighting, sound and video equipment to numerous shows and events, with a large domestic and international client base.
Colour of Light are headquartered in Seoul and are a design practice and installation consultants specialising in the performing arts.
They have purchased 24 channels of Elevation 1+ drives with Kinesys Libra load cell integration and monitoring using the LibraCELL and LibraPRO products.
Colour of Light deals with theatre installations and specifications throughout Asia and worldwide and their clients include local governments, schools and cultural and arts organisations.
Central to their philosophy is maximising the potential for creating excitement and exhilaration via performances onstage, and they are well aware that having Kinesys technology available to enhance a show in any environment opens up a whole new range of possibilities.
Kinesys’ MD Dave Weatherhead commented: “It’s fantastic to see our products being used for increasingly diverse applications around the globe.
“People are realising that versatile and safe automation can be very cost effective for the additional scope and potential it brings to any event, show or performance space”.
