Neg Earth invest in DigiHoist for Muse World Tour
Lighting experts Neg Earth have invested in five Kinesys DigiHoist controllers and two remote handsets for use on the current Muse world tour.
Neg Earth is a leading independent lighting company that has been established in the entertainment market for over 25 years. Neg Earth and Kinesys have a long standing relationship with Neg Earth being one of the first ever users of the Elevation 1+ variable speed chain hoist system. The purchase of the DigiHoist system follows on from Neg Earth’s investment in a Kinesys K2 Console and Software package to control twenty of their Elevation 1+controllers, also for the Muse tour.
Dave Ridgway, Managing Director at Neg Earth says ‘We wanted to invest in a system that coupled safety with efficiency and with the DigiHoist system, this is what we have. This new system has proved to be a great hit with the Muse LX team as it is compact and enables multiple units to be daisy chained together. We see a great future for this system and especially welcome the forward thinking upgradeable options for this unit. Kinesys have always proved themselves to be helpful and client focused and we look forward to continuing an already successful working relationship with them.’
Kinesys’ Managing Director Dave Weatherhead commented further. “Neg Earth have always been a fantastic customer, they are keen to embrace automation technology and very early on saw how it could provide their clients with an exciting new dimension to their productions. Kinesys in turn are always aiming to anticipate that demand and to produce the right products with the right features to meet it.”
The DigiHoist system provides advanced fixed speed chain hoist control in both low voltage and direct control configurations. The high resolution display offers comprehensive feedback from its 8 separate channels, including channel number, status and load cell information via LibraCELL loadcells.
In the case of the low voltage control version over-travel limit sensing is also possible for added safety. The optional Ethernet and Positioning Card allows ‘soft limits’ to be set to ensure accurate and safe chain hoist positioning.
Multiple units can be daisy chained together via a digital communication link; this allows the channel numbers to be assigned automatically as well as allowing the linking of the safety signals.
The complete DigiHoist system is currently being used at the Cottesloe Theatre and by other leading rental companies proving that it is the smart and reliable choice for the control of chain hoists.
